About Summer Organic Chemistry Tuition Assistance
Matriculated WashU Arts & Sciences students with demonstrated financial need have an opportunity to apply for Summer Organic Chemistry Tuition Assistance. The application will open in early February, and award decisions will be made on a rolling basis as funds allow. The award amount will be informed by the percentage of need-based aid a student receives during the standard academic year. Priority will be given to A&S students for whom Organic Chemistry fulfills a requirement for their declared or intended program of study.
Eligibility
Washington University undergraduate students who meet the following criteria may be eligible to receive tuition assistance for Organic Chemistry lecture:
- Are seeking a degree in Arts & Sciences.
- Qualify for need-based aid (FAFSA on file)
- Need to take Organic Chemistry to fulfill a requirement (or pre-requisite) for their declared (or intended) program of study or pre-health pathway.
Award Amount
The award amount is determined by WashU Student Financial Services and is informed by the percentage of need-based aid a student receives during the academic year. The tuition rate for Summer 2026 is $1250 per unit. Typical awards for the 3-unit Organic Chemistry lecture course will range from $900-$3000 which includes any Pell grant funds awarded.

- FEBRUARY 10th - Organic Chemistry Tuition Assistance application opens
- MARCH 10th - Award status notification begins and will continue on a rolling basis
- APRIL 10th - Organic Chemistry Tuition Assistance application closes

Yes, Summer Organic Chemistry Tuition Assistance funds are reserved for Arts & Sciences students. Students from other divisions are encouraged to inquire with their respective division and/or Student Financial Services regarding any financial support that may be available to them.
Tuition assistance is only available for the summer online Organic Chemistry lecture sequence.
Since the Organic Chemistry lecture courses will be offered online this summer, funding is only provided to help offset the cost of tuition.
