Registration Details

For WashU Undergraduate Students

Current WashU students who have completed at least one full semester in residence can register for Arts & Sciences summer courses directly through Workday.

For Domestic Visiting Students

Undergraduates in good academic standing attending a US college or university are welcome to register through the visiting student program. We strongly advise you to consult with your home institution's advisor to discuss courses and transfer credit procedures prior to registration.

For International Visiting Students 

International students currently studying on an F-1 or J-1 visa sponsored by a US college or university can register through the visiting student program. Required official documents for review include:

  1. Official I-20 or DS-2019
  2. Official I-94
  3. Official score report from TOEFL or IELTS
  4. Transcript of record from home institution

Questions about your visa status? Please reach out to the Office of International Students and Scholars. International students not currently studying in the US may be considered for the visiting student program on a case-by-case basis.

For Pre-College Students

Middle and high school students should visit Pre-College Programs to review information about admission and registration.

For Continuing Education Students

Adult learners or professionals interested in taking summer courses at Washington University should visit the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (CAPS) for registration information.

Course Registration Begins

Officially enroll in any of our diverse summer course options beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Summer Session 1 Begins

Summer 1 is a 3-week session from May 18 - June 5.

Summer Sessions 2 & 3 Begin

Summer 2 is a 5-week session from June 8 - July 10.
Summer 3 is an 8-week session from June 8 - July 31.

Summer Session 4 Begins

Summer 4 is a 5-week session from July 13 - August 13.

Summer 2026 Tuition & Fees

Arts & Sciences Course Tuition

  • Undergraduate: $1250/unit ($3750/3-unit course)

Potential Additional Fees (subject to change)

  • Lab/Materials Fees: $15 - $350
  • Late Payment: 5% of the outstanding balance (minimum $50)

Tuition and fees are listed with each course Workday.

Payment Options

WashU Undergraduate Students

Charges for Summer Session courses will appear on an electronic billing statement, accessible by logging in to Workday. Generally, the outstanding balance is due on or near the 20th of the following month, unless other arrangements have been made. Unpaid bills will result in a financial hold being placed on the student's account.

Domestic & International Visiting Students

Registrations are to be paid in full to secure a seat in a course. Students may pay by debit/credit card or provide an approved alternate method of payment (i.e. financial aid consortium agreement, military benefit, etc.). At this time, we cannot accept check or cash payments.
